By learning to connect to our hearts we can become more compassionate and caring towards ourselves and others, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. At PEPIT Consulting, we use technology to help our participants regulate their hearts in order to build resilience and improve energy management.

So why do we focus on the heart? Research shows that by physically connecting with our hearts, we can shift our moods and improve focus, sleep quality, and vitality as well as release stress, find balance, and build resilience.

There’s more. Looking after the physical heart is imperative for overall health and longevity. According to the World Health Organisation, Ischaemic heart disease and stroke are the world’s biggest killers, and these diseases have remained the leading causes of death globally for the last 15 years. So anything we can do to help improve the health of our hearts is of the upmost importance.

Heart Facts

  • The heart starts beating in the unborn foetus before the brain has been formed
  • The heart sends more information to the brain than the brain sends to the heart
  • The heart helps synchronise many systems in the body so that they can function in harmony with one another
  • The heart signals sent to the brain especially affect centers involved in strategic thinking, reaction times, and self-regulation
  • Your heart emits electromagnetic fields that change according to your emotions
  • The heart has a system of neurons that have both short and long-term memory
  • The human heart’s magnetic field can be measured up to several feet away from the body

What Is Heart Intelligence?

We’ve all heard the age-old advice to listen to our hearts, follow our hearts, and let our hearts guide us. So what does this actually mean in real terms? Over the past several decades, The Heartmath Institute has been researching the science behind heart intelligence, helping to clear the fog around this little-understood topic.

Did you know that the heart radiates a magnetic field, which can be detected several feet outside the body? Researchers who placed electrodes in a glass of water found the heartbeat of a nearby participant could be detected. They later found that a person’s heartbeat could be detected in a nearby person’s body and brain.

Moreover, our hearts communicate to one another energetically. By hooking up Heart Rate Variability (HRV) devices, researchers have found that heart rates and heart rhythms of a mother and baby, a happy couple sleeping together, and even a young boy and his beloved dog, can start to beat in synch.

The Heartmath Institute found that our emotions are embedded into the magnetic field radiating from the heart. In their words “This communication system energetically connects us to others and helps explain how we can feel or sense another person’s presence or their emotional state, before having any cues from their body language or tone of voice.”

The Heart Brain

Neurocardiologists discovered that the heart contains its own inherent nervous system called “the heart brain.” Containing over 40,000 neurons, it’s able to sense, process information, make decisions, and even hold short term and long term memory.

It also creates and secretes various hormone and neurotransmitters that affect a wide range of functions in the body. One such hormone is oxytocin, typically referred to as the hormone, which affects love and bonding.

The heart sends more information to the brain than vice versa.

The Science Behind Our Heart Technology

At PEPIT Consulting we use tools and techniques based on over 25 years of scientific research on the psychophysiology of stress, emotions, and the interactions between the heart and brain. Heart rhythm patterns are the best reflection of our inner state. We can use them to see what’s going on inside of us and learn how to shift into a state of balance, self-reliance and renewing feelings, such as appreciation and compassion.

The technology analyzes and displays heart rhythm, measured by Heart Rate Variability (HRV), which indicates how emotional states are affecting the nervous system. HRV offers a unique window into the quality of communication between the heart and brain, which directly impacts how we feel and perform.

This technology trains us to self-generate a highly efficient physiological state called HRV coherence, which helps us increase emotional composure and clearer reasoning. Recommended by health professionals worldwide, HRV coherence training has been associated with many health and performance benefits. A few minutes of daily coherence practice has been shown to reduce and prevent the negative effects of stress, such as overwhelm, fatigue and exhaustion, sleep disruption, anxiety and burnout.

The following time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I do know it was my option to read, but I really thought youd have something attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you would fix should you werent too busy in search of attention.
